WordPress has an impressive ecosystem of themes, plugins, and developers. Today, most people are choosing this impressive hosting giant over other platforms and there are a number of reasons why.
WordPress is More Cost-Effective
A content management system’s features may be the hook that reels you in, but the cost of these platforms is usually the deciding factor. When it comes down to it, Kajabi is much more expensive than WordPress.
This is because WordPress is open-source software that is free to download. The extra costs, however, get added when you pay your monthly hosting bill or if you choose to buy any other premium WordPress templates or themes. The cost of having your own WordPress website could range from $5 – $199.
Kajabi offers a pricing plan that includes three tiers. The basic tier will cost $149 per month, with the growth and pro tiers costing $199 and $399, respectively. Each plan or tier doesn’t really give you new functions to make use of. Instead, a higher tier will allow you to expand on the functions you already have.
In essence, this means that if you want to scale your online business, you will have to move up to a higher tier.
The great thing about WordPress is that you can choose how much you want to spend each month when it comes to add-ons. With Kajabi, you don’t really have a choice. This means that with WordPress, you scale your budget as your business grows in a way that makes financial sense to you.
Theme and Customization Options
When it comes to theme and customization options, both Kajabi and WordPress allow you to pick a general theme and modify elements and layouts. However, when it comes to the sheer number of themes or customization options offered to you, WordPress has the upper hand.
WordPress offers a huge library of themes to each user. It also has a relatively minimal structure, which means you have lots of room to play with.
Kajabi, on the other hand, has only offered 11 themes to each user up to recently. Now, however, they are focusing on their Premier Themer which offers six layout presets which you can further customize. The previous 11 themes will no longer be updated.
Overall, Kajabi has decent flexibility with all of its themes and layouts being integrated into the platform itself. But, when it comes down to it, Kajabi simply cannot compete with WordPress when it comes to creating a fully customized website.
With lots of WordPress themes being free of charge, it most likely won’t even cost you extra to get the desired look you want.
WordPress Offers Endless Integrations
Integrations are a crucial part of any content management system because they allow you to connect with third-party apps and services. Both Kajabi and WordPress offer essential integrations for business applications. However, WordPress reigns superior here as well because of the massive number of integrations offered to each user.
As of now, Kajabi has 10 built-in integrations that allow you to access popular platforms like Google Analytics, Clickfunnels, and MailChimp. Kajabi has made an effort to include crucial integrations in the platform itself. Essentially, this means the platform assumes you will be comfortable using the apps or services they have chosen for you.
Of course, you can always use their Zapier integration to make custom integrations with other non-native third-party apps. But this takes a while to set up and may be a bit too technical for small businesses to get right the first time.
WordPress, on the other hand, can be likened to one big integration. Every plugin or extension you can imagine is available for integration when using this content management system. This means you can easily choose and install any plugin and get the functionality you need to support your website’s goals.
Payment Gateways
Kajabi only offers two payment gateways to its customers, namely PayPal and Stripe. Although these two gatew
ays cater to most countries worldwide, you will still be limited should you want to change your gateway in the future.
When migrating to WordPress, you’ll get access to numerous payment gateways. This means that no matter where you live, you can choose the best payment option that works for you on both a local and global scale.
Should you ever change your mind and would rather want to opt for a different payment gateway, you are free to do so with WordPress. In other words, WordPress is better able to support more payment options and can cater to a wider variety of businesses.
